Art residency 2026 at "De Lage Noorden"
Free Frisian
During this short art residency in Friesland, right at the top of the Netherlands, I reconnected with nature. This residency gave me the freedom to experiment with land art, gave me the head space to write and the land gave me the materials to create some exciting experiments.

A big studio asks for big experiments
Using the clay found in the nearby ditch I experimented with combining the clay on rice paper. The wind drawings captured in the area can be seen on the drawings. Bringing land and wind into one, reflecting the landscape

Land art
This residency gave me the opportunity to explore and experiment with land art. Using the clay that I harvested from the ditch, I created a large wind drawing on the broken road. The lines intertwined with the cracks and the trees shadows. Slowly fading over time, these lines felt like the echo of the winds whisper.
Looking down from the former grass silo, you could see how the land and sky connect, this is reflected in the land art as well.
